Academy of Music (Zeneakademia)
The concert hall of the Academy of Music accommodates an audience of 1,200 and boasts the best acoustics of any Hungarian concert hall. This is the country's most prominent public concert venue.
The Great Hall (Nagyterem) is 25 metres long, 23 metres wide and 16 metres high. As for its architecture, this is an excellent example of an early reinforced concrete structure. Given its dimensions, at the time it was constructed the Academy must have been regarded as a stunning building, even internationally.
The Academy's second, smaller concert hall (Kisterem) accommodates 400 and used to be a venue for opera performances. Today, this pleasant hall mainly hosts chamber concerts.
