Apaj
Apajpuszta belongs to the Kiskunság National Park (Kiskunsági Nemzeti Park), as the Upper Kiskunság Alkaline Plain (Felső Kiskunsági Szikes Puszta). It is the second largest alkaline plain in Hungary.
Until given village status in 1985, Apaj was a group of farmsteads (puszta). Until World War II it was the centre of the Coburg ducal estate. After 1945 it became renowned for horse and grey cattle breeding.
How to get there:
To reach the settlement turn off
Route 51 at Dömsöd. By train, take the Budapest-Kunszentmiklós-Kelebia
line to Dömsöd Station which is next to the central area of Apaj.
