Artists` Colony (Művésztelep), Szolnok
With 12 studios and 2 pavilions the Artists' Colony opened in 1902 in the park established on the site of the old castle. The painters and sculptors working here retained their individual styles.
Until the end of World War I Adolf Fényes was the leading figure of the colony.
From the 1920's till the end of the 1930's the strong character of Vilmos Aba Novák influenced the work of the colony's creative community.
The studios and pavilions of the Artists' Colony of Szolnok provided a creative space to innumerable painters, sculptors and artists even following World War II.
