Bajna
The Sándor-Metternich Mansion erected in 1741 is the main attraction of Bajna. Only a few old trees remind of a once splendiferous park of 11 hectares.
The first written records of the settlement date back to the 11th century. By 1087 it already had a church of its own.
A Baroque Calvary dating from 1752 stands on Csima Hill on the site of the former church of the old village which was devastated in Turkish times.
How to get there:
By public transport, local Volán buses serve Bajna from Budapest, Esztergom, and Tatabánya. By car, look for Bajna northwest of Budapest half way between Esztergom and Tatabánya.
