Even more than 50 years after the IInd World War, the VIIth district of Budapest represents a sad period in the history of Hungary.
The south-eastern part of the district used to be the getto of Jewish people in Budapest. Erzsébetváros (Elizabeth Town) is the traditional center of the Hungarian Jewish community. Synagogues, museums and community centers are all located here. The VIIth district is one of the busiest place of the capital due to its central location.
