Fort Star (Csillag erod), Komarom
Built in 1586, the St Peter Stockade is called Fort Star on account of its four-pointed star shape. The building acquired its present form during the renovation and reconstruction carried out between 1850 and 1870.
In accordance with 19th-century principles of military architecture, the barracks and the storage buildings surrounded by earthworks were further protected by ramparts around the perimeter. It differs from the other two forts in the town in that it was not surrounded by a trench with crenelles but by a wide moat.
