Fossils (osmaradvanyok), Ipolytarnoc
These prehistoric finds are more than 20 million years old close to Ipolytarnóc. It is the world's third richest footprint find site.
Sometimes also referred to as the 'Prehistoric Pompeii', Ipolytarnóc stores real treasures, like the teeth of 24 different species of sharks as well as the teeth of crocodiles and dolphins which were buried by volcanic ash. Fossilised trees were also found at the time of discovery, including prehistoric pine 24 fathoms in circumference and 46 metres tall. Prints of more than 5,000 subtropical, exotic leaves and 2,000 animal footprints also appear before the visitor from their millions of years obscurity.
