Palvolgy Dripstone cave (Palvolgyi-cseppkobarlang)
A picturesque stalactite cave open to the public in the Buda Hills. Its air is considered to have healing powers. The extraordinary dripstone shapes are fascinating and resemble an elephant, a crocodile...
The explored length of the cave is around 19 kilometeres, of which 500 metres is paved, lit, and open to the public. Its most interesting attractions are the varied glittering calcite crystals, fossilised shell imprints, fairytale dripstones, and odd shaped rocks. Its temperature is a constant 10 degree Centigrade throughout the year.
The cave may only be visited with a tour guide. Guided tours start hourly at a quarter past the hour (e.g. 10.15, 11.15). Guided tours in a foreign language are available upon prior booking.
