Reformed church, Hajduboszormeny
Online szállásfoglalás
Originally built in Gothic style with a fortified wall and corner bastion, the church also served as a town refuge. It acquired its present neo-Gothic shape between 1880 and 1882.
The interior is worthy of the outer appearance of this monumental edifice. The ceiling's wooden structure is the masterpiece of Budapest carpenter Ede Ulrich. Built in harmony with the church style, the impressive organ is the product of the world famous Angster company and is one of the largest organs in provincial Hungary.
Inside, above the pulpit, the town's crest is displayed in a frame in fitting with the style of the building. Originally adorning the coffered ceiling of the former church, the crest was moved to its present location in 1882. Two tablets decorated in Baroque style and bearing quotations from the Bible also survived from the old church.
Can be visited upon prior arrangement.
