Straw Treasury - International Straw Art Collection, Zengovarkony
Arranged in a heritage building, the exhibition presents a wide variety of objects made of straw along with the tools and utensils required for the various techniques.
Approximately 400 straw art objects from 15 different countries can be seen here. Items made in Mexico, Switzerland, Japan, China, Holland, England, the USA, Australia, Sweden, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus and Germany are on display together with pieces from Hungary, Transylvania, Bácska and Slovakia (former Upper Hungary). Particular treasures of the museum are two Udmurt dolls, 19th-century pattern boards for hat lacing and a Huichol Indian hat.
Straw Treasury (Szalma-kincs-tár), this international straw art exhibition was opened after nearly a decade of collection and research work by Tünde Tüskés. In the summer demonstrations of straw art and camps are held in the museum.
