Tapio region
The
Tápió region has many faces; forests, groves, reedy and swampy areas, as well
as flowing waters and lakes, make it varied and beautiful.
The 'capital' of the region is Nagykáta where the most outstanding attraction is the Keglevich Palace. Explore the Tápió-Hajta Country Landscape Protection Area, a bird habitat of European significance set on the outskirts of the town.
From the time of the Hungarian Settlement an ancient camp of the Árpád Age Bicske clan, Tápióbicske is significant both for its rich history and natural assets. There is a populous colony of bee eaters on the outskirts while Erdős Valley and Gombos Grange with their common oak woods are a nature reserve.
Named after the 'miraculous thorough blood', the Kincsem Equestrian Park with the Kincsem Museum can be found in Tápiószentmárton.
