The right bank of the Danube to Budapest and Szentendre Island
Numerous resorts are to be found in this area. Not only that, there is also Szentendre, abounding in museums and heritage along with a 'miniature Hungary' in terms of ethnography - the Szentendre Open-Air Ethnographic Museum.
Szentendre
is also known as the city of art, museums and galleries. Here the streets are
bustling with people who marvel at the heritage buildings, museums and churches
while the open-air museum provides the opportunity to become acquainted with
the vernacular architecture and folk heritage from most regions of Hungary.
Nestled between two branches of the Danube lies Szentendre Island which is 31 kilometres long, 3.5 kilometres wide and 58 square kilometres. Its banks are covered in lush vegetation while the majority of the interior is bare of trees, dotted with sand dunes and used for agriculture.
