Zemplen and the Bodrogkoz
The most significant small regions of the area between the rivers Hernád and Tisza are the Zemplén Hills, the Bodrogköz, Tokaj-Hegyalja, Taktaköz and Harangod. Alongside the Hernád and the Tisza, the largest rivers and the Bodrog and the Takta.
This landscape has everything through from flat lands and lush vegetation in river valleys to rolling hills and high hills. Much of this small region consists of the forested Zemplén Hills, although Tokaj-Hegyalja (primarily famed for its white wines) is also significant. The Kazinczy Museum in Sátoraljaújhely gives an overview of the local flora and fauna, historical heritage and famous happenings of the Zemplén and the Pácin Bodrogköz Museum of the past, folk arts and natural assets of the Bodrogköz.
